Overcomers of the Last Days

By Sandra Moats Overcomers of the last days......“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony, and they loved not their lives unto the death.” Rev 12:11. The blood of Jesus cleanses us from sin. Believers who live in the last days will be met with evil and temptation constantly. The dust of the world is everywhere. The blood of Jesus when applied over the life of a believer will cleanse and remove the dust. Mt 26:28; Ro 5:9; Eph 1:7; 1 John 1:7-9. “Faith in the blood produces great results.” —Andrew Murray. There is power in the powerful blood of Jesus. When applied you can overcome everything coming against you. You apply the blood of Jesus to your life when you find yourself in a life-threatening circumstance. Once while sleeping I experienced a spiritual attack from a demonic force. It was like someone was trying to smother me. I could not move or talk. Inside I began to cry out for the blood of Jesus to cover me. The battle ensued for a short time and then t felt like someone lifted the evil force off me. Every time you take communion you apply the blood of Jesus. You are abiding in Him. John 6:56. There are many folks that have been healed when they take communion. The blood of Jesus has cleansed them and freed them. In the Passover, there was covering for the firstborn of the Israelites. In the New Testament Jesus is our Passover lamb. Through His blood we live and have fellowship with God.” But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ.”. Eph 2:13. God protected the nation of Israel from being destroyed by placing the blood of an innocent lamb on their doorposts. Ex 12. Christians have been grafted into this covenant (R0 11:17; Gal 3:29) by the blood of Jesus our Passover Lamb (1 Cor 5:7. We can claim the blood of Jesus over our homes and lives. “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Lu 10:19. “Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.” Lu 9:1. And by the word of their testimony…Christians have the blessing of sharing their testimony with those who are lost, and with Christians who are in need of encouragement or direction that sometimes is found in testimonies. Living in the last days we will have opportunities to give the word of our testimony. Now is the time if you have not done so to exercise that great privilege of sharing your testimony. No testimony is too small. All testimonies have the power to touch someone’s life to give them the opportunity to come to Jesus. A testimony is sharing the story of your life or parts of it that might help someone. Testimonies are powerful! They are an open path to give glory and honor to God. In them, we give glory and honor to God. “The unbelieving world should see our testimony lived out daily because it just may point them to the Savior.” Billy Graham. Psalm 22:22 “I will praise you to all my brothers; I will stand up before the congregation and testify of the wonderful things you have done.” It is our love and awe of God that inspires us to testify of His great love and compassion for us. It is His goodness and our experiences with Him that motivate testimonies to flow from our life in Jesus. As He touches our lives it is impossible to keep inside what has happened since we met Jesus. As God touches our lives deeper, we cannot help but testify what He has done. After 8 years of being sick with a serious kidney condition when Jesus touched me and healed me miraculously, I could not help but testify what He had done. It is still fresh with me to this day the great love and healing power that touched me. The next day I phoned the church where we were attending. I asked to be served communion. It was very important to me at the time. The pastor came to our home and met with us. He was taken back by what had happened in my life. He was disturbed and told me those things don’t happen today and it was certainly of the devil. I said, “It is amazing to me that the devil would heal me and that there is such love that I have been bathed in.” Surely that touch set me on fire for Jesus. And later brought my family to Jesus. Testimonies produce fruit! Your life should match the testimony perfectly. You can have a great testimony in your talk, but you can lose the power of your actions. The world is dark and is constantly seeking light. You are called to be the light of the world. Ephesians 5:8, “Live as children of light.” They loved not their lives unto the death… They were willing to give their lives for Christ. They were willing to die as martyrs. They remained solid in their faith and testified even when it meant they would be killed. Some even sang as they were killed. “The word of God, which they believed and testified, even unto death. So, for instance, died Olam, king of Sweden, in the year 900, whom his own subjects would have compelled to idolatry; and, upon his refusal, slew as a sacrifice to the idol which he would not worship. So did multitudes of Bohemian Christians, in the year 916, when queen Drahomire raised severe persecution, wherein many “loved not their lives unto the death.” Even today there are martyrs. Near the end of this world, many will be martyred for their faith in Christ. I have heard Christians say, “If I have to take the mark of the beast to have food, I will take it.” Most Christians are looking to the rapture and not be faced with those challenges. But we do not know the day nor hour that Jesus will come. We must set in our minds that we will finish our time on earth well. We must set in our hearts that we will not shrink back should we be faced with giving our lives. Let us set our eyes on Jesus and be overcomers.
