Honoring the father

Life is so busy. We have things to tend to everyday such as work, family, and life events. There are set days throughout the year honoring different people. This month we honor all those who are fathers. They are the head of the household, the ones who lead our families and children in the directions they need to go. What image comes to mind when you think of a father? Is he the hard working man, who provides for the family? Is he the fixer? The one who makes sure the things that get broken are put back together and are working again? Is he the one who goes to all your functions, supports you, and roots you on? He is probably all of those things and loves you unconditionally. Think hard about what a father does.
Maybe, you do not have your biological father in your life due to various circumstances that have come your way; however, you do have a Father who will always be there for you and will always care for you. From prior to conception throughout eternity, you have a Heavenly Father who loves you. Our Father says this in His Word, “Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” (*King James Bible) It is also said that our Father has also another name that means God is with us... “Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” (*King James Bible)
This Father''s Day, honor your earthly father and also your Heavenly Father. Our Heavenly Father is watching over us and guiding us and we should be honoring Him everyday. He is our provider, our listener, the Forgiver of all we have done, our Supporter, the One who cheers us on from above, and the Lover of our soul. He has placed each of us here for a specific purpose. You may have uncovered your purpose and are working on it or maybe you are still trying to discover it. Either way all of the things that are happening in your life are to fulfill the purpose He has for you. In that, we need to be thankful for ALL of the things that we are experiencing. Even during the most challenging times. We are His children and He will take care of us and all of our needs. The more time we spend honoring Him and thanking Him, He will reveal how much He cares for us. How do we get to know and really see all that He is and all that He does for us? Through prayer and reading the Bible. There is nothing in our life He doesn''t know, yet He longs for us to come to Him and trust Him. You are loved.
You may already spend time on Sunday''s going to church and honoring Him there. As the weeks goes by, life events happen and our Heavenly Father gets set to the side. This Father''s Day try something a little different, make that the day you will begin to spend time with Him every day. Allow yourself to see just how much He loves you. You will find, as you develop a closer relationship with him, that you are a unique, special person with a job to do here on earth. As you are doing this you will also be filled with a new joy and sense of hope and understanding like never before.
Happy Father''s Day!
