Desperation to Destiny

In Matthew 9:20-22 the bible states that a woman was suffering from a hemorrhage and had an unstoppable flow of blood. Under the law she was unclean and forbidden to be in a crowd of people, yet her desperation, brought about by 12 years of unsuccessful medical treatments and having no money left to pay for more treatments, drove her through what was lawful and the crowd to Jesus. She realized that her fate and destiny rested in the power of Jesus.
Some people consider destiny as a stroke of luck or some fortunate break, yet this woman saw her future. Her hope in the present caused faith to cry out and say, “If I only touch His garment, I will get well.” Her thought life might say something like this, “I will crawl if I have to in front of all to get to my covenant promise.” Faith possibly forced her to crawl on her hands and knees through the crowd to touch the hem of Jesus’ garment. Hope and Faith will cause us to reach far beyond reason for the things of the Kingdom.
I feel a spirit of desperation on the Church as a whole right now. In yesterday’s C.O.A. Sunday service, I asked for those who need a fresh burning and a passion for the next season, almost everyone came forward and people were powerfully touch by the Holy Spirit. We must be as desperate as this woman with the issue of blood. Desperation will always call for extreme actions. This woman’s condition forced her to a place of surrender, for it is the yielded heart in desperation that believes. Jesus’ life made an impact on her heart and faith caused an action which resulted in her healing.
For those members of Church In One Accord, I am asking that you crawl to Jesus if you have too. Surrender in His presence to be recharged. Let our spirit be strengthened by God’s power so that our heart yields even more to God’s destiny for our lives and our Church. For all those who read this article, let your hunger become so desperate that you are willing to anything to get to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.
